Thoughts on an Acorn

I picked these acorns from the ground on Little Round Top on the Gettysburg Battlefield.  I thought about the oak trees from which they’d fallen had grown nourished by the blood of the Union soldiers who had fallen there.

I thought I would stop writing a weekly column for newspapers, but after trying it for a couple of weeks, I’ve come back to posting one each week.  One of the papers has a website that carries them, so just search out Mandan News to read them.
